The Home of Golf is spectacular and I believe can be experienced to the full when touring around using your own Motorhome or Camper van. Combing the benefits of flexibility with the comforts of your own (ish) bed every night, it can be a lot of fun. Make your next visit to Scotland a special one by experiencing some of our best golf courses next to fantastic campsites and make it a multi experience adventure.
There are many benefits to having your own campervan or motorhome on your golf tour.
Think freedom, fun, open fires. BBQ’s at night, the experience of camping and being able to relax, knowing your next move is all up to you.
It really is a great way to experience golf in Scotland, the home of golf.
I feel a bit blessed to share a passion for golf with my two kids. They also love to travel and enjoy camping so being able to combine all these passions makes for some great trips. Both kids love playing in competitions and we are fortunate in Scotland to have a number of tours and competitions that allows the children to see courses from the North to the South of the country. We want to share our experiences with you, so that you can get the most out of your trip.
But this really is a great way to see more of Scotland on your visit, and also to enjoy the fun and flexibility that is camping and motor homing. Through our experiences we can help you choose which courses, the best campsites, where to eat and loads of other tips that will help you get the most out of your adventure.
Playing on the Junior Tour Scotland, the courses have been excellent and stretched from the Borders in the South to the Highlands of Scotland in the North. Read about the courses and what surrounds them in our Blogs.
It has never always been all about the golf. When visiting the area we have always sought out different places to eat and to make sure we get a good feel for the area we are in. Whether that is the odd whisky distillery or shopping venue, we have been lucky to find some hidden gems.
There is also some great opportunities to play wonderful courses in Open Competitions that give you a chance to play against fellow golf enthusiasts and meet some new friends, and often at a cheaper rate than standard if you look around. There is a link to this info in the courses section of the website.
Of course, camping in a campervan and motorhome can be a bit daunting if it is your first time. We have some top tips for you that will save you time, energy and frustration. Anything to make your trip go smoother.
Please have a look and if you have any more questions please use the link on the contact us page. We will be only too delighted to help with any queries you might have.
We would love to share our experiences with you and hear all about your amazing trips to Scotland.
St Andrews
A must for any visit to Scotland. Two campsites in the town and we can give you all the details for both, plus where to eat, must places to visit and how to get the best out of your trip. Prices in the town are not getting cheaper, so a Motorhome trip is one way to get the best out of our visit. More money for a fine steak at the Balgove Steak Barn, or a dram or two in the Central bar.
Carnoustie
With a campsite located only a short walk from the first tee, this is a great location to stay, and obviously play, the wonderful Championship and Burnside courses.
Fortrose and Rosemarkie
With one of our favourite restaurants and two campsites attached to a fantastic golf course, this place is fantastic. A friendly and top notch clubhouse is another reason to visit.
