Lets explore which one might be the best for your trip!
How many of you are going is a key question! Campervan such as above will be fine for two of you, and will be cheaper than the larger motorhome both in hire and in fuel costs. 3 or more and your are looking at a Motorhome.
If your budget is a bit bigger, than consider the larger motorhome with more space, most likely a toilet and shower included which makes life a lot easier, (however the campsites we recommend will most always have showers and so will the golf clubs). More space also means more people which can reduce the shared cost and increase the number of people who can take turns in driving. Plenty of space for the clubs too.
Some of which I suppose depends on which airport you are going to arrive in, or where you are travelling from in the UK. But have a look at the website below which has a great selection of vans for hire along with some top tips:
Does your budget include eating out, or will you prefer to park up and have a few beers with the BBQ? Might be worth thinking about what equipment and how much cooking space you are going to need each night. There will always be some options close by if you prefer to dine out.
Worth checking all the bits and bobs that might come with your van? Fire pit, outdoor chairs, bbq, blankets, there are a few bits that I would add to your list. Some necessary, some not so but worth considering all the same. When you hire it is worth asking the question.
More than two nights of rain, then you treat yourself to the next night in a hotel or guest house. No point in ruining your holiday completely by trying to battle the elements. Scotland is famous for its changeable weather, so just think about having a rule like this in place!
